Derbyshire Home Loans was formed by Derbyshire Building Society in 1990 following a ruling that allowed 'mutual' building socities to set up subsidiary companies.  Following the merger of Derbyshire Building Society with Nationwide in December 2008, Derbyshire Home Loans is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nationwide Building Society.

We began trading in 2000 when we bought our first mortgage portfolio and have since become a significant buyer of mortgages, acquiring portfolios from some of the biggest lenders in the UK mortgage market.
